The Titanic
The Titanic was built in the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. Work began on the Titanic on 31 March 1909 and the ship was finally launched on 31 May 1911. The Titanic famously sank on her maiden voyage following hitting an iceberg in the early hours of 15 April 1912. Today the ship yard that built the Titanic has closed down and the area where she was built is being converted into a visitors centre. |
